San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales to Headline Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce Forum
“Coyote Valley Specific Plan Progress Report” will be the topic for the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce quarterly Business Forum and feature the Honorable Ron Gonzales, Mayor of the City of San Jose, and San Jose Planning Department Deputy Director Joe Horwedel.
The Chamber’s Business Forum will be Friday, June 17, from noon to 1:30pm, at the Golden Oak Restaurant, 16695 Condit Road in Morgan Hill. The cost for lunch and the program will be $25.

Equipment Donation Benefits Local Access Station
Morgan Hill Access Television received some much needed equipment donated by KETH, San Jose’s public television station. When KETH went digital, they had a surplus of supplies that they donated to the MHAT.
Included in the items was 24 black and white monitors, a color television, vectorscopes and delay switches. All told, the studio received nearly $10,000 worth of equipment.
“They were all things that will make us much more effective and efficient,” said John Liegl. The station also received furniture built for video equipment to replace old tables. MHAT runs mainly off of donations, so the equipment was well received.
“This means a whole lot for us,” Liegl said.
Liegl said he will phase in the newer instruments as the need arises. While some studio monitors have been traded out, Liegl said he is now trying to find places to store all the equipment.
“Our problem now is where to put everything,” Liegl said. “But that’s ok. These are good problems to have. I want to thank KETH. This is the most wonderful thing they could have done for us.”
Free Movies Every Wednesday at Cinelux This Summer
CineLux Theatres invites kids and their families to spend summer mornings at the movies for their annual Free Family Film Festival. The festival kicks-off Wednesday, June 15 with shows starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays at CineLux’s Tennant Station Stadium Cinema at 750 Tennant Avenue in Morgan Hill. Seating is first-come-first-serve. Guests will enjoy a variety of G and PG-rated films including Shrek 2, Shark Tale, Because of Winn Dixie, Lassie, Charlotte’s Web and many more.
“This summer we are offering 11-weeks of free movies for kids and their families to enjoy,” said Paul Gunsky, president of CineLux Theatres. “CineLux Theatres knows it’s important to give back to the community and we’re looking forward to hosting this free film festival for the families.”
