But coach Tony Goble said it was the defense that he focuses on.
“We always start off by working on defense,” Goble said. “Our defense creates our offense.”
Hussein Abdullahi, Sergio Avila, Julian Barta and Trevor Kozacek had goals for the Acorns in the game against Salinas. Live Oak scored three of its goals in the second half.
In the game on Monday afternoon, Live Oak scored goals by Hussan Abdullahi (Avila), Avila (Razouk), Hussan Abdullahi (Hussein Abdullahi), Barta and Cesar Serrano.
“We’re going to try to switch up a few things,” Goble said. “There are a lot of teams scouting us. Even though we had had sub .500 record last year, everyone wants to beat Live Oak because of our tradition.
Live Oak (10-1-4, 4-0 TCAL) will play at Gilroy , who was 8-4-2, 3-0 before the game against North Salinas, in a matchup of league titlist contenders.
