Live Oak students and fans cheer for the Acorns during their away game against Evergreen Valley in San Jose.

Live Oak will open a CCS playoff run at home.
The Santa Teresa Division champs will take on the MTAL runners up from Pacific Grove Friday at Richert Field.
The Acorns are the No. 2 seed in Division IV.
Pacific Grove enters the game at 9-1, having lost its first game Friday against 10-0 Carmel, who earned the No. 3 seed.
The winner of Friday’s game will advance to face the winner of Carmel and Scotts Valley the day after Thanksgiving.
This is the first playoff appearance for the Acorns since 2010 and is a major milestone in avenging last season’s disappointment.
After Friday’s game against Evergreen Valley, Gemo said his boys need to show up to practice everyday and be ready because the road was going to get tougher.
Meanwhile, after a 300-yard performance to close out the regular season, Trevor Bearden looks to make is CCS career rushing record count with championship.
“I’m worried about the CCS championship, I’m not too worried about any records,” Bearden said after Friday’s game. “I’m just trying to win. Records don’t mean anything if you don’t win.”
Bearden may still have a shot at a single season rushing record if Live Oak can make a deep run.
He’s less than 500 yards from 3,000 for the season and needs just 404 yards to eclipse the CCS single season record of 2,956 yards set last year by Justin Ewing of Capuchino.
