The LIVE OAK HIGH SCHOOL Patriot Club will be donating proceeds from the upcoming club food day to the family of wounded U.S. Army Medic David Shebib. David, a former student at Live Oak who graduated from Central Continuation High School, was injured when a roadside bomb exploded Dec. 28 in Iraq. He is hospitalized at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where his family keeps vigil.

The high school’s club food day will be Feb. 1. Students and visitors can purchase a variety of foods from different clubs with the money going to the club’s fundraising efforts.

“Patriot club members would like to encourage the community to help David and his family in their time of need,” said club advisor Paula Haaser, adding that in conjunction with the club food day, the club will also set up a collection box at Live Oak in Room 907 to accept any financial donation that may be offered.
