Last month’s heavy rains caused flooding along Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill.

Overnight rains turning into light showers with warm temperatures throughout the daytime hours will continue to be the weather pattern this evening and over the weekend, according to Steve Anderson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Friday’s forecast is similar to today’s limited rainfall with no heavy downpour expected, Anderson added.
“The next batch of rain is coming late tonight, early morning Friday with showers on and off through Friday afternoon,” said Anderson, forecasting about a quarter to half an inch of rainfall through Saturday morning. “Sunday we will get a little bit of a break before the next round of rain Sunday night into Monday morning.”
Light breezy winds are expected to pick up Friday morning as the storm front comes through South County. However, the “wind flows from the southwest so it’s pulling a lot of warm subtropical air,” Anderson explained. “That’s why it feels warm outside.”
