What a sad surprise we had visiting Morgan Hill and our family since the Covid crisis. We could see what was happening to the town even before that. The city leaders have provided an example of how to destroy a beautiful town in just a few years. The downtown is still charming.

But now, what was once a beautiful landscape of a small town has become a vast landscape of tightly fit rooftops of three-story apartments and condos built wall to wall which provide absolutely no privacy to enjoy any outside space and no parking for family and guests.

Squeezed onto open land are mammoth distribution centers. Whose pockets are full with that zoning?

There is no lure to bring families to single-family homes with yards to enjoy time outside. Morgan Hill is just an extension of San Jose. We always thought we would retire in Morgan Hill, but since our last visit we are so sad to be re-thinking that plan.

We will leave the bedroom apartment community that was once Morgan Hill.
