The city will hold a community informational meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday on the upcoming construction of the Tennant Avenue and U.S. 101 interchange project.
The project work includes widening the Tennant Avenue overpass to four lanes over Highway 101, construction of a loop for eastbound traffic to access Highway 101 to the north, a High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) bypass lane, and ramp-metering infrastructure. Contractors and consultants as well as Caltrans representatives will be at the meeting. Construction should begin next month.
The completion date is April 2011. The $10.7 million project is being paid for with Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency funds.
“This meeting will cover the plans, scheduling, traffic control plan, construction staging plan, and other logistics of construction work, and give the community the opportunity to get any questions answered” project manager Julie Behzad said. “The project will bring this interchange to the standards of the Cochrane Road and East Dunne Avenue interchanges, and enhances the prospects for industrial and commercial development in the southeast quadrant of city.”
The Community Meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 17555 Peak Ave. and will last about an hour.
