Special to the Times

Leadership Morgan Hill is pleased to announce its Class of 2006.

The 23-member class completed a weekend-long initial retreat on January 28th and 29th.

This initial class event brings the class together at a remote site where they begin a 9-month program that forms the basis for life-long friendships and enhanced service to the Morgan Hill community.

The Leadership program provides an in-depth look at the many facets of our community as well as training in skills to solve problems, take risks, resolve conflicts, serve on non-profit boards, manage projects to successful completion, and build teams. Participants have been selected from diverse backgrounds and experiences, people who have a commitment to community service and potential for leadership. Selection criteria includes personal motivation, maturity, a directed idealism, and leadership ability.

The Class of 2006 includes a police chief, a homemaker, several realtors, City staff, a hypnotherapist, a high school principal, a community librarian and more – a very diverse and talented group that has already started organizing their community project!

The mission of Leadership Morgan Hill is to ignite the passion, inspire the commitment and sharpen the skills of the leaders who will create a dynamic Morgan Hill.

This class fills that bill admirably!
