Candidates for the Nov. 6 city election filed their latest required campaign financial disclosure forms earlier this month.
The records show that Mayor Steve Tate, who is running unopposed for his fourth two-year term, leads the field in fundraising with $4,982 in contributions so far this year.
The latest filings itemize individual contributions to the campaigns of city council members Larry Carr and Marilyn Librers, council candidate Matthew Wendt, and Tate during the period from July 1 to Sept. 30. They also list itemized expenditures made with that cash – such as for promotional signs and literature – during the same time, and they list year-to-date totals for both contributions and expenses.
The disclosures are required by state and federal election law. Council candidate Joseph Carrillo was not required to file a disclosure because he does not anticipate raising or spending more than $1,000, and therefore did not create a campaign committee.
Librers has so far raised about $4,814 this year, consisting mostly of a loan from herself to her campaign.
Wendt so far has raised $1,905, including several contributions from family members.
Carr has raised $450 in campaign contributions this year.
Most of the reported contributions listed by all candidates range from $100 to $300. Tate received the largest contribution this filing period of $500, provided by Fry’s Electronics.
The deadline for the next disclosure for all candidates is for Oct. 25.
Electronic copies of the latest disclosures, which were provided by the city clerk’s office, can be seen elsewhere on this Web page.
