Gavilan head coach Tim Kenworthy heads to a conference meeting to discuss Gavilan’s playoff hopes today.

The Lady Rams’ fate was to be decided at a seeding meeting in Sacramento last night.

“We’ve had a great year and this was a great way to conclude it, with this W, the 20th win,” said Kenworthy on Wednesday.

“This puts us in with the top four teams in Gavilan softball history.”

Gavilan softball clinched its first over-.500 season since 1988 earlier this month, and became the first team to win 20 games since Coach Paul Latsky led the Lady Rams to a 20-16 mark in 1988.

Meanwhile, the Gavilan baseball team fell to 5-16 in Coast Conference play (10-21 overall with an 8-4 loss at Hartnell on Tuesday.

The Rams were scheduled to host Chabot yesterday before traveling to Ohlone today at noon.

The squad finishes off its season with a pair of home games next week – San Jose City College on Tuesday and College of San Mateo on Thursday. Both games are set to begin at 2pm.
