rolled through six strong innings against the Panthers, whom she
held hitless until the sixth inning.

Backed by errorless defense, Powers rolled through six strong innings against the Panthers, whom she held hitless until the sixth inning.
Meanwhile, Gavilan used an opportunistic offensive attack to take a 4-0 lead.
Freshman catcher Justine McDonald, a Live Oak High grad, knocked in a Courtney Colianna with a double in the first.
Then, in the top of the sixth, Gav’s Amanda Jackson hit a two-strike pitch for a double off the centerfield fence driving in Colianna and Katrina Villa.
Powers tired a little in the late innings and surrendered a pair of runs to the Panthers in the sixth inning.
And, Hartnell added one more run in the bottom of seventh before Lady Ram reliever, Colianna worked her way out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam by getting the last two batters on a strikeout and fielder’s choice to shortstop.
Gavilan improved to 14-10 overall (5-5 in conference) with the victory.
