A Gilroy school bus was involved in a minor accident June 28 in Gilroy on Chestnut Street.

No injuries were reported when authorities arrived to the scene of an accident involving a school bus in south Gilroy Thursday, police said.

The driver of the Gilroy Unified school bus, which was carrying an unknown number of children, reported that another vehicle suddenly pulled out in front of the bus, causing the driver to stop suddenly, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Brian Wittmer.

No collision occurred, police said.

Some of the students aboard the bus told the driver they were hurt as a result of the sudden stop, so the driver called police, Wittmer said. But when police and paramedics arrived the children said they were not injured. Paramedics checked the children who complained of pain but found no injuries.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. on Chestnut Street just south of Tenth Street.

An ambulance arrived at the scene, but no one was transported to the hospital, police said.
