Red Phone: Dear There Oughta be a Law … there is. According to section 8.16.150 – Posting notices prohibited, in the city’s municipal code, “No person shall post or affix any notice, poster or other paper or device, calculated to attract the attention of the public, to any lamp post, public utility pole or shade tree, or upon any public structure or building, except as may be authorized or required by law.”
So, good caller, not only is it illegal to leave the tape after removing signs from posts, but it’s even illegal to attach them in the first place.
Here’s an idea. Instead of attaching garage sale signs to posts that few can read as they hurriedly drive past, take out a classified ad that thousands will read. That might get more people stopping by the sale. Just a thought.
There’s no need to make a U-turn
“Red Phone, I’m calling about the U.S. 101/Tennant Avenue intersection. There used to be a left turn signal, going north on 101, but now you have to go to Condit Road to and make a U-turn to get on the freeway going north. Are they going to reinstall the left turn signal there so that people don’t have to make that dangerous U-turn? Thank you very much.”
Red Phone: Dear Confused, if Red Phone understands your question correctly, you should not have to make a U-turn.
The new overpass includes a cloverleaf design that allows you to smoothly merge onto the freeway heading north without sitting at any lights. Then as you are heading east on Tennant Avenue, get in the right lane on the overpass. Then go right and you’ll be merging onto the freeway.
