Rain is forecast over the next few days in Morgan Hill, according to the National Weather Service.

There’s a storm a brewin’ in South County but the heavy stuff won’t hit Morgan Hill until mid to late Saturday afternoon, according to National Weather Service Forecaster Bob Benjamin.
About a tenth of an inch fell overnight in Morgan Hill to dampen the grounds and that’s just the start of the storm fronts set to move in with strong winds of 15 to 25 MPH, Benjamin said. At higher elevations, those wind gusts are expected to hit 50 MPH.
Light to moderate rains will persist Friday night and into Saturday morning before Morgan Hill takes the brunt of a series of storms that will run into next week.
“It’s going to be very breezy throughout the South County, Morgan Hill, Gilroy areas,” Benjamin said. “Later Sunday after and late night another round of heavy rain will hit but there won’t be as much wind with the second round of rain Sunday and into Monday.”
A brief reprieve from heavy rain is forecast later March 7 and will then dry up March 8 before yet another storm is set to touch down in South County on March 10.
“We’re expecting quite a bit of rain over the next couple of weeks, probably 2 to 2.5 inches between now and Monday afternoon,” said Benjamin, noting that rain totals could hit 4-6 inches in the Gavilan hills and up to 10 inches in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Temperatures are expected to remain relatively warm “because there’s a lot of tropical moisture being injected into the system,” and remain with highs of 60s and lows into the mid-40s.
