Hammond of Morgan Hill, to James Paul Stromberg, son of Jeanette
Stromberg of Chicago and Paul Stromberg of St. Louis, Mo.
A desert sunset was the backdrop for the outdoor wedding on July 10, 2004, of Ashley Clare Hammond, daughter of Ralph and Gale Hammond of Morgan Hill, to James Paul Stromberg, son of Jeanette Stromberg of Chicago and Paul Stromberg of St. Louis, Mo. The couple exchanged their own vows before numerous friends and family at The Foothills Golf and Country Club in Phoenix, Ariz. The reception took place immediately after in the main ballroom.

Ashley graduated from Live Oak High School in 1994. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, in 2000, and completed her Masters Degree in Elementary Education in 2001. She has been teaching first grade at El Dorado Private School in Scottsdale, Ariz. for the past three years.

Jim graduated from Arizona State University in 2000 with a degree in Construction Management. He is currently a project engineer for Hunt Construction in Los Angeles.

Pastor Paul Michael, of Phoenix, officiated the ceremony. The wedding photographer was Azy Scotten of Azy’s Photography in Scottsdale.

Maid of Honor was the bride’s sister, Alyssa Hammond. Attendants were Jamie Ewing Stidham of Gilroy and Michelle Crowell of Morgan Hill; Nicole Bynum, Mandy Robison and Alicia Fox Markham of Scottsdale, all are friends of the bride. Groomsmen were Rob Brua, Ian Baaske and Will Sawitz of Chicago; Kirk Hoffman and Steve Holen of Scottsdale; and Mike Faeth of New York City, all are friends of the groom.

After honeymooning on the island of Kauai, Ashley and Jim made their first home together in Redondo Beach, Calif.
