With Halloween just around the corner, there are monsters and ghouls lurking about everywhere – even at the Morgan Hill Library.

But not all these monsters are scary. Here are just a few of the funny monster books you’ll find at the library:

The Perfect Little Monster by Judy Hindley: Baby Monster’s parents think he’s perfect in every way. He has horrible little eyes and a horrible little nose and he scowled as soon as he was born. He likes to bash and trash things. But when Baby Monster’s whole family gathers for his first birthday party, it turns out that he’s not quite as perfect as his parents think.

Where’s the Baby? by Pat Hutchins: When Grandma, Ma, and Hazel Monster want to find Baby Monster, they follow the messy trail he has left through the garden, the kitchen, Pa’s workroom, the living room, the bathroom, and all through the house.

Follow the Monsters! by Sharon Lerner: Featuring Jim Henson’s Sesame Street Muppets. In this book, you can follow all sorts of monsters through all sorts of places, on their way to Sesame Street.

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak: A naughty little boy, sent to bed without his supper, sails to the land of the wild things where he becomes their king. But in the end, he becomes lonely for the place where someone loves him best, and makes his way home to find his supper still waiting for him.

The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone: Grover worries on every page about the monster at the end of the book. He tries all kinds of tricks to prevent the monster from coming but in the end, he gets a surprise when he finds out who the monster really is.
