Good morning,
Morgan Hill
The Times moves to morning, Tuesday and Saturday editions
Dear Neighbor:
If change is the spice of life, then welcome to our kitchen. Actually, today marks a new era in our publishing history as we introduce the inaugural issue of what we hope you’ll agree is Your Good Morning Newspaper, the Morgan Hill Times.
In addition to fresher design and expanded local content, we also have changed our publishing cycle from Tuesday and Friday afternoons to morning delivery by by 5:30am Tuesday and Saturday by 7am. Why?
A recent marketing survey, performed by A&A Research of Kalispell, Mont., revealed that your newspaper needed a facelift and a renewed local news focus, including Friday night local sports scores, all delivered at a time of day when you wanted to read a newspaper – in the morning.
In other words, you spoke and we listened. To those of you that pointed out the good, the bad, and the ugly – thank you.
Redesigning the pages of your newspaper was not a haphazard process and change for the sake of change was not our motivation. Literally months of planning, hundreds of “do-overs” and a dash of blood, sweat and tears make up what you hold in your hands today.
Cosmetically, we hope you’ll agree this new look to an old friend is more vibrant and reader friendly. But more importantly, we hope you’ll see a rejuvenated newspaper that is more relevant, compelling and committed to serving our community and local residents from the Coyote Valley to San Martin. After all, local news is the heart of our franchise.
For 110 years since 1894, The Morgan Hill Times has chronicled the news and lifestyles of southern Santa Clara County.
On behalf of the entire newspaper staff, we thank you for inviting us into your home on a regular basis and, as always, invite your comments, criticism and suggestions. E-mail us at ed******@mo*************.com, call 779-4106, ext. 200, or write us at 30 E. Third St., Morgan Hill, CA 95037.
