Girls soccer match postponed because of rain

SAN JOSE — In a make-up contest from two weeks ago, the Longhorns on Monday became the first Mount Hamilton Division team to six league wins, beating Live Oak 2-1 to move into a pelaton atop the conference standings with the visiting Acorns and Branham, who are separted by less than a game.

Live Oak (7-3-4 overall, 5-2-1 league) and Branham are tied for second place with the Acorns holding a tie-breaker. Leigh (10-2, 6-2) moved into first, two spots ahead of Leland and Santa Teresa, who are 5-2 and 4-1-3 in the division, respectively.

Goals by Allie Dugan and Caitlin Massey pushed the Longhorns to a fourth consecutive win.

Tiffany Geer scored in the first half for the Acorns, who have lost two of their last four.

Live Oak hosts two more games this week, starting at 3:15 p.m. today against Pioneer and Friday against Willow Glen.
