A 13-year-old girl was robbed by a group of unidentified people while walking home near Del Monte Avenue and Christy Lynn Drive.

The girl told police someone suddenly struck her on the back of the head with a hard object while she was walking, causing her to fall down. Several suspects held her down while they took her jacket, a necklace and a pair of gloves, before running away, according to Morgan Hill police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer. The attack occurred about 10:20 p.m. Friday Jan. 2.

The girl was unable to provide a description of any of the attackers, and was unsure exactly how many people were involved, Neumayer said. The girl complained of pain in her neck and the back of her head, but refused medical attention.
