The next Morgan Hill General Plan Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, where committee members will discuss and refine draft growth alternatives for the potential ways Morgan Hill could grow over the next 20 years.
The GPAC, along with elected and appointed City officials, is currently in the process of a comprehensive update, known as Morgan Hill 2035, of the General Plan and the City’s major land use documents.
Thursday’s meeting will be the sixth meeting of the GPAC, which is comprised of 17 Morgan Hill residents representing a cross section of industries, age groups and socioeconomic sectors. The committee will continue to meet over the next two years in order to collect and consider input on how the City should grow, and draft General Plan Update recommendations to the City Council and the Planning Commission.
The meeting takes place 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Centennial Recreation Center multipurpose room, at 171 W. Edmundson Ave.
“Refined” growth alternatives will be presented to the Council and Commission Jan. 22, 2014, and the Council will formally approve three alternatives to be analyzed further on Feb. 19, 2014, according to City staff.
