A proposed change concerning the provisional board appointment of a new trustee has been made to the agenda for tonight’s Board of Trustees meeting at Gavilan College, located at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. in Gilroy.

The vacancy on the seven-member board was left by the sudden death of Mike Davenport, a Morgan Hill resident who fell from the top of his RV the afternoon of Feb. 20 will gassing up at the Chevron station on Cochrane Road.

Davenport was in a medically induced coma since the Feb. 20 incident. He died two weeks later at San Jose Regional Medical Center after his family decided to take him off life support.

Davenport was a trustee on Gavilan College’s board of trustees starting in 2008. Before that, his civic involvement included service as a Morgan Hill planning commissioner.
