The Gavilan volleyball team has started off it’s conference season on the right foot.
The Rams are now 2-0 in conference play after picking up a win against Foothill College at home Friday. Gavilan won 23-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-17 for the 3-1 victory. 
Tasmin Apple and Savanna Hartman proved to be double trouble for Gavilan, racking up 17 and 13 kills respectively. Sabina Gerard led the way in assists with 40. 
Gavilan will be back in action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday as they play host to Chabot College.

Gavilan snaps losing streak
The Gavilan men’s soccer team snapped a 7-game losing streak, topping Skyline College 2-1 on the road Friday.
The Rams drew first blood, scoring off the foot of Ricky Roque in the 21st minute. The goal was assisted by Alexis Diaz. 
Gavilan (3-7 overall, 1-3 in conference) struck again just minutes later. This time it was Diaz with the goal, assisted by David Valencia, in the 25th minute to jump ahead 2-0. 
Skyline’s lone goal was scored by Francis McGloin in the 81st minute and was assisted by Yoann Rosas. 
The Rams will host Canada College at 4 p.m. today.
