Dear Red Phone,
“T.J. Maxx constantly violates the handicap parking stalls right outside their front doors and windows. They are placing their cart corrals in the stripped marked handicap unloading zones that are marked for disabled unloading. I have complained twice to the store manager. She could care less and is extremely rude when I discussed the problem. Please, I and my disabled son need your help.”
Red Phone: Dear Stuck In The Middle, You are not alone in your frustration in not being able to get out of your car. There is even a Facebook group titled, “Handicapped Parking Spaces are not a Cart Corral,” and many people have expressed their frustrations in online forums. Some folks complain that shoppers leave carts in handicapped spots, preventing people from parking in the spots altogether. Shoppers should be careful where they leave carts because others might not be able to park in those spaces. But if the carts are in the corrals and you still have trouble fitting into the parking spots, you have a few options. Either park as far away from the corral as possible, park in a different spot or get the corrals moved. Usually stores try to scatter the corrals throughout the parking lot, often placing them near the entrance for easy access. But sometimes these can get in the way as you have seen. Since you mentioned the local management wasn’t able to help you, we forwarded your request on to the corporate office to see if they can help you find the space you need. Check back with Red Phone for their response.
