The Morgan Hill Library is one of several throughout Santa Clara County that will offer free legal assistance from Oct. 15 to Oct. 25 through its Virtual Lawyers in the Library Program.
The virtual legal advice clinic connects experienced volunteer attorneys from local corporations and commercial law firms with community members.
Virtual meetings, using a video conferencing program between participants and qualified volunteer attorneys, are free and limited to 20 minutes per session. Individuals can register online at www.probonoproject.org/virtual-clinics or sign up at the library.
Short waiting lists will be maintained at each location after available session have been booked.
The Pro Bono Project, in partnership with Santa Clara Libary District, allows participants to use laptops, a printer/scanner and video conferencing software to connect with a volunteer attorney over the Internet. Individuals can scan and send documents. Library personnel will be available to help navigator the computer system.
