Thanks to all who helped make A Feline Affair a success

Dear Editor,

A Feline Affair, held at Rosy’s at the Beach Sunday Feb. 26, was a rousing success!

The raffle and door prizes were phenomenal and guests were very supportive of Air For Paws’ efforts to equip first responders with animal resuscitation kits.

Air For Paws wishes to extend an extra big THANK YOU to our generous donors and volunteers; for without you, an event this successful would not be possible.

Not directly asked, so no reason for Councilman Bracco to disclose

previous drug convictions

Dear Editor,

How very sad to see an article in your paper last Friday about a 23-year old drug conviction of someone who managed to turn his life around and keep it so ever since. Do we not support and encourage and provide hope to anyone willing to make an effort so great as to break an addiction? For many, even once clean it’s a daily struggle to remain so.

Your choice of newspaper material breaks my heart. If I am to believe that your reason for printing it is because Councilman Dion Bracco holds a public office and may run for mayor (and not because you’d print such a story about anyone), then what does 23 years ago have to do with today, or any of the last seven years he’s been an elected official?

Why does your article question whether or not he was required to disclose this conviction whether or not he was directly asked? Aren’t you supposed to know before you print?

If you don’t know, then how are you justified in printing a story that clearly paints a picture of wrongdoing on Mr. Bracco’s part?

What wrongdoing? Oh, that’s right. You don’t know of any, but you’re looking into it, AFTER you’ve publicly torn down someone who should be praised for his accomplishments in this regard. How many of us know someone struggling right now who we hope and pray will one day succeed as Mr. Bracco has? I, myself, hope and pray for many, including those so blind as to not see the harm that they do.

Let Israel go it alone if they don’t include U.S. in plans

Dear Editor,

Israel wants to keep America out of the loop when it comes to its decision to attack Iran. But Israel expects America to back it up once it starts the war.

So we’re supposed to sit back and let Israel decide when America is going to war? I don’t think so! If it were up to me if Israel attacks Iran without including us in the decision – they’re on their own.

Gays and women are mistreated, Americans killed and yet our president apologizes …

Dear Editor,

Let me get this straight, the Muslim detainees desecrate their own Korans by using them to smuggle information. They are caught, the Korans are destroyed and the Muslims riot killing Americans.

The President of the United States writes an apology letter to the weakest and most corrupt leader in the world. Can someone explain this to me?

Are we afraid of a religion the treats women like cattle and denies the existence of gay people?
