– The Yankees came up with four runs in the fourth inning and
three in the sixth to pull away from the Marlins for a 12-3 win in
the Morgan Hill Pony Baseball Bronco Division.

Winning pitcher Jason Struzik stroked a two-run single to score Nathaniel Batad and Matthew Bellah as the Yankees pulled away in the fourth.

Jesse Lares’ two-run single scored Struzik and Bellah in the sixth. Auston Rutledge tripled and scored in the seventh. Batad and Taylor Pullen scored the first two runs for the Yankees.

Batad, Struzik and Rutledge were each 2 for 4. Batad scored three runs. Struzik and Lares had two RBIs apiece.

Nick Swanson scored a first-inning run for the Marlins on Trenton Cisewski’s RBI singles, and drove in a seventh-inning run. Swanson was 2 for 3.

Struzik allowed four hits and struck out seven in 3 2/3 innings.

ATHLETICS 15, TIGERS 0

The Athletics pounded out 19 hits and three pitchers combined on a one-hitter in the Bronco Division contest.

Nelson Pyle went 3 for 5 with two doubles, Andrew Bueno was 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, and Casey Dawes had two hits and three RBIs to lead the Athletics’ offense. Bueno, Dawes and Matt Jarvis all had RBI hits in each of the first two innings.

Mike Jarvis’ two-run single highlighted a five-run first inning for the Athletics, who scored in each of the first six innings.

Jackson Gion’s double was the Tigers’ only hit.
