Do you ever wonder what happened to your friends from high school? Are you curious to know if your class reunion is coming up? Well, if you’re a former Acorn, there is a web site out there just for you: The Live Oak High School Alumni Network (LiveOakAlumni.net).
May 6 marked the launch of a new version of the web site, boasting dynamic alumni profiles for every graduating class, reunion information and a new, intuitive design. The site has been rebuilt from the ground up to address much needed performance issues. The web site has been through several iterations since it’s founding in spring of 1997 and is now utilizing the latest in open source technologies.
Visitors to the site are able to browse through what are referred to as the “class pages” to read about the activities of fellow alumni. These “public profiles”, as they are known, are created by the alumni themselves. Alumni may also reference reunion information on the site.
The Live Oak Alumni Network allows former students of Live Oak High School to create a membership to allow them to publish a public profile.
Members may also send email or send an instant message to others listed on the site. Membership is not required in order to read the profiles of classmates nor view reunion information.
The Live Oak Alumni Network is free of charge and was created by Stephen Musgrave and Tim Roach, both of the class of 1992. Since the relaunch of the Live Oak Alumni Network, activity on the site has skyrocketed. Over 4,000 Live Oak alumni are listed on the site. Live Oak High School is located in Morgan Hill, California.
New features are planned for the site including message boards, chat and the ability to upload pictures to public profiles. Meet up with old friends: LiveOakAlumni.net.
