Sobrato High took care of business Friday night, defeating Independence High School 28-17 to remain one-game back of first place in the Blossom Valley Athletic League with two games remaining in the regular season.

The Bulldogs (6-2 overall, 4-1 league) are tied with Leland in second. The Chargers (5-3 overall, 4-1 league) beat Sobrato earlier this season, but the Bulldogs can create quite a cluster at the top of the standings next week when they travel to face undefeated Oak Grove (8-0 overall, 5-0 league) in San Jose.

The Eagles moved past Pioneer 30-23 on Friday night to keep their first-place status.
