About three-quarters of an inch of total rainfall is expected to hit the South County area beginning early Friday morning through Sunday evening, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Roger Gass.
Rains are forecast to start as early as 5 a.m. Oct. 14 with the strongest downfall coming between 7 and 11 a.m.
“It will be light to moderate rain at times,” Gass said. “The heavy rainfall will stay in the coastal regions, but Morgan Hill will still see decent rainfall.”
Another secondary system is expected to move through this area late Saturday and into early Sunday, Gass noted. Temperatures throughout will hover in the mid 60s to low 70s, according to NWS statistics.
“Rain chances will continue into Sunday and start to diminish early Monday morning,” Gass concluded.
The City of Morgan Hill reminds local motorists to change windshield wipers, check tires, fix leaks in residences, clean out rain gutters, clear debris from grates and storm drains, and finish outdoor projects or bring them inside before the first rains of the year touch down.
“Remember that the roadways are extra slick with the first rains,” according to the city’s announcement. “Use extra care when driving in the rain.”
