Sunshine brightened the skies of Morgan Hill briefly Monday as rain from the series of storms which have plagued California took a break, but showers are expected to continue through Wednesday.

Morgan Hill had 0.04 of an inch of rain in the 24 hour period ending at 4pm Monday, according to the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Rain – heavy at times – was expected through this morning.

Local reservoirs are filling but all are below 80 percent of capacity:

MHPD Lt. Joe Sampson said Monday that the soggy weekend was trouble-free. Santa Clara County Fire Department Capt. Wally Finck said fire crews also had a quiet weekend, with no storm related problems, except for a rollover accident Friday on Highway 101 at Bailey Avenue.

The storms are typical “Pineapple Express” storms that have stalled over the state.
