Members if the Live Oak Chapter of FBLA were among the
approximately 375 students from around the Bay Area who competed in
the various business-related events and attended workshops at the
Bay Section Leadership Conference at Westmoor High School in Daly
City recently.
Members if the Live Oak Chapter of FBLA were among the approximately 375 students from around the Bay Area who competed in the various business-related events and attended workshops at the Bay Section Leadership Conference at Westmoor High School in Daly City recently.

Congratulations to the following Live Oak FBLA members who won, but to everyone who participated, it was personal knowledge gained and a learning experience as they studied on their own.

Inga Huang, first, Word Processing II and second, Future Business Leader; Tiffanie Chan, first, Word Processing II; Celia Sanchez, second, Job Interview; Alana Lee, third, Word Processing I; Diana Cline, third, Public Speaking II; Derek Chan, fifth, Business Procedures; Heather Phan, fifth, Word Processing I; Jesus Atanacio, fifth, FBLA Principles and Procedures; Yasser Elassal, seventh, Business Law; Roger Alcaraz, seventh, FBLA Principles and Procedures; Christina Sun, ninth, Business Procedures.

All of the first through fifth place winners have won the privilege of competing at the State Leadership Conference, May 1-4.

As members of the Bay Section officer team, Inga Huang and Tiffanie Chan played a part in conducting the general sessions with the business at hand as well as providing some fun activities for the crowd making balloon animals and icebreakers.

While not competing, member attended informative workshops: “Are You A Leader Today?” “Marketing Yourself in an Electronic Age,” “College Life, What to Expect (Health and Social Issues),” and “Johnson and Wales, America’s Career University.”

Keynote speaker David Mineta, president of the board of education of Westmoor High, emphasized to the students, that as they finish college and earn money, they should have a plan to give back to the community using their knowledge and wealth.
