Six other enforcement agencies swarm business Tuesday
Morgan Hill – Agents and officers from several different organizations descended on Morgan Hill Tuesday, closing off Community Park Tuesday morning for a short time, then sealing off Sun Valley Technical at 15555 Concord Circle.

The parking lot and grounds of the business were off limits to all but federal agents through Thursday evening, with agents posted around the clock.

Representatives from the different agencies involved – FBI, Department of Defense, U.S. Postal Service, California Department of Motor Vehicles, the Defense Criminal Investigative Service and Morgan Hill Police Department – referred all questions to the lead agency in charge, Immigration and Customs Enforce ment (ICE).

MHPD Cmdr. Joe Sampson said four MHPD officers assisted with the activity on Tuesday, but said he could not say anything more.

ICE Director Media Services Virginia Kice said Tuesday that she could not discuss the nature of the investigation.

“The specifics related to the investigation are all under seal and so we can’t discuss the probe further,” she said. “Agents from these federal, state and local agencies are executing a series of federal search warrants related to an ongoing multi-agency investigation. I am not at liberty to provide anything further.”

Another ICE spokeswoman said Thursday she could not divulge if arrests had been made or were going to be made or how long the business would remain shut down and off limits.

Local residents and business contacts of Sun Valley Technical across the U.S. have tried to discover the nature of the warrants and raids.

Dennis, a Morgan Hill resident who declined to give his last name, said he lives in the Park Side subdivision on the west side of Community Park. He said saw police officers in the park Tuesday morning. He said they had both ends of the driveway through the park blocked to traffic, and officers and agents were “milling around where you usually see all the ducks.”

John, who also declined to give his last name, called The Times from Sun Microsystems on the east coast. He said he sells Sun Valley Technical equipment, and the company owes money. He said the raid by federal agents has something to do with the computer equipment that the company sells.

An ICE spokeswoman said Thursday she may be able to release more information in a few days.
