Dear Editor,

I liked the article about my grandmother, Dominga Lujan, in the Nov. 6 edition of The Times. She is indeed an wonderful woman and deservedly loved and respected by all that know her.

If I may, I would like to point out an error in the article. My father, Frank “Paco” Leyva is a retired SAC (Special Agent in Charge) of the U.S. Secret Service, not Interpol, as stated in the article. He joined the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy after serving with the Marines in the Pacific theater in World War II. In 1950 he was asked to join the Secret Service. He was the first Mexican-American agent in the agency. Various siblings have pictures of him while protecting presidents Eisenhower, Nixon and Kennedy.

He was SAC in the Paris Embassy during the Paris peace talks that ended the Vietnam War. His children are all quite proud of him and rightfully so.
