The Santa Clara Valley Water District will host a community meeting tonight in Morgan Hill to receive feedback on its Open Space Credit policy, which keeps agricultural water rates low.
It is important for agricultural water users to attend this meeting to express support for the Open Space Credit, according to the Santa Clara County Farm Bureau. The water district’s Open Space Credit policy is the use of non-ratepayer funds to keep agricultural water rates at $18.30 per acre foot, while municipal and industrial water rates are $305 per acre foot in South County and $680 per acre foot in North County, according to the Farm Bureau.
The workshop will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center at 17000 Monterey Road.
