Santa rides with Boy Scouts Troop 799 on the Magic Ship of Christmas during the Morgan Hill holiday parade.

Downtown Morgan Hill will turn into a holiday extravaganza and community service organization showcase Saturday, with the Rotary Club’s annual Gallery of Trees exhibit installation, the Holiday Lights Parade followed by a tree lighting, and Santa Clause visiting local children in his magic ship.
The Gallery of Trees exhibit, a fundraiser for local schools and youth organizations in Morgan Hill, will be erected 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the lawn of the Community and Cultural Center’s amphitheater.
Trees are decorated by local public and private schools. Winners will be announced after the parade. First, second and third place winners, plus three honorable mention winners, will receive cash scholarships.
The trees will remain on display until Dec. 22.
Then at 5:30 p.m. will begin the Morgan Hill Kiwanis Club’s annual Holiday Lights Parade on Monterey Road through downtown. After Santa Claus makes his way to the end of the parade on his magic ship, he will visit with children in the courtyard of the CCC where he also light the City’s holiday tree with Mayor Steve Tate.
The CCC, at 17000 Monterey Road, will also feature a lineup of entertainment throughout the evening, including children’s choral groups and a dance group.
