EDITOR: I have never been so hurt as to see my son hurt by such
cruelty of kids of all ages. My one concern is where do kids or (
young teens) learn this unless they are taught at a young age.
Parents think that the kids don
’t hear them, they are like wet cement waiting to be imprinted.
I am not a perfect parent myself, but I am willing to look at
things with a different perspective.

My son is one of many with a slight learning disability. I wish this would have been recognized when I was younger. Instead I played catch up when I arrived at a junior college. I have heard other kids say that RSP is for dumb and stupid kids, and where they heard that was at home. Because I did ask where they heard that and they said, well the teachers wanted me to get that kind of help, but my father refused because I was not going to be labeled as a stupid kid or caught in the school system like that.
I really wish that people could educate themselves first before drawing a conclusion or be so judgmental. Why don’t we let God be the judge of that. All we want is an education like everyone else. My son has been so teased and hurt, and if anyone has a heart or kids and they know that when your kids hurt, you hurt.
The same also goes for kids who get free lunches for whatever reason: hardship, lower income, etc. I know of kids who will not eat because if they go to that line you will be teased because you are poor. The same goes for the kids who go down the hallway to the RSP classes. The same for families who live in BMR houses.
I wonder if those parents who are teaching or saying these things at home could be educated, because this is happening here, and not just now. It’s been a while.
