Make your appointment now for Peg Jackson’s 17th Annual Pet Photo Day, hosted by Weston-Miles Architects at The Granary, 17500 Depot St., Morgan Hill.
The shoots are from 5 to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Each professional sitting includes one 5-inch by 7-inch photograph of your pet. The cost is $50, all of which goes to the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center.
Appointments are limited, reservations are required.

Take a walk on the wild side
Join Jane Haley, a National Park Service docent for 20 years and Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center volunteer, on a bird walk along Coyote Creek, north of Morgan Hill, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The program is free, space is limited and reservations are required.

Sharpen that pencil, Puzzle Day is here
Sharpen your pencils as well as your analytical skills. The annual Silicon Valley Puzzle Day event will bring together crossword and Sudoku puzzle enthusiasts for fun competitions and friendly camaraderie.
Saturday will be devoted to workshops run by professionals. A Puzzle Party held that evening at the Morgan Hill Ramada Inn hotel will allow participants to make new friends in a sociable setting. Sunday will feature tournaments where puzzlers divided into different age groups will compete for prizes provided by Fry’s Electronics and other sponsors.
Puzzle Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at the Morgan Hill Public Library, 660 W. Main Ave. It is free to attend, suggested donation fee to compete in contest.

Enjoy an afternoon of laughter
Enjoy a fun afternoon of laughter suitable for the entire family as the Grad Night Committee 2009 presents “Family Comedy Matinee,” performed by the interactive improv experience comedysportz from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Ann Sobrato High School Performing Arts Center (doors open at 2:30 p.m.).
Tickets are $10 each, $5 for children younger than 13 and are available in the front office of the high school, or at BookSmart. They will also be available at the door. All proceeds go to defer the cost of tickets for the Safe And Sober Senior Grad Night. Concession sales support the Sobrato Drama Club.

Join the Parrot Head community
The Santa Clara County Chapter of Parrot Heads In Paradise is holding a membership drive at the Morgan Hill Bowl at 7 p.m. Feb. 18. This club is sanctioned by Jimmy Buffett. The local chapter raises funds for nonprofits and members volunteer for community service. They attempt to keep efforts local, and will have a team at this year’s Relay For Life, which supports the American Cancer Society.
