DELO: Slight adjustment can help you

I know that most of you will simply go to the center of the teeing ground to start the play of a hole. Most of the time this is OK, however, there are those occasions when you want to use the very right-hand or left-hand side to make your tee shot easier.

For example if you consistently slice the ball and there are trees that guard the left side of the teeing ground, move all the way to the right, so it gives you a better angle to start your slice without hitting the trees. Another example is if there is trouble like an out-of-bounds area or a lake on the right side of the fairway; tee the ball up on the extreme right side and hit away from trouble. Again this gives you a better angle.

If you have a low or high spot on the tee use it to your advantage. If the ball is a little above your feet you will hit the ball with a little draw or if you slice it. You will slice it less. Ball below your feet, you will fade it or fade it more. Often times a few feet makes all the difference between a ball in the fairway or on the green and one that is in a lake.
