Charges have been filed against a Gilroy man suspected of raping
a 20-year-old woman he met at a bus stop while housing a
15-year-old runaway juvenile in his home, according to Amy Cornell,
spokeswoman for the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s
office.

Cornell said Jesse Arias, 52, has been charged on five counts: three of lewd or lascivious act on a child age 14 or 15, one of possession of matter depicting a person under 18 engaging in sexual conduct, and one of distributing harmful matter to a minor.
All charges relate to alleged activity involving the runaway juvenile police said had been living with Arias for months. Phone calls to Deputy District Attorney Stuart Scott and Supervising Deputy District Attorney Steve Fein asking if charges would be filed relating to the alleged incident involving the 20-year-old victim were not immediately.
Arias was arraigned Wednesday and will enter a plea at 9 a.m. Friday, in Dept. 109 in the South County Courthouse in Morgan Hill, according to Cornell.
Arias was taken into custody Monday following a report that he invited a 20-year-old woman he met at a nearby bus stop to his house Saturday in the 200 block of Old Gilroy Street and raped her while she was “under the influence of an intoxicant,” according to the GPD.
After arresting Arias, the GPD obtained a search warrant and discovered a reported runaway juvenile, police said.
Police determined the juvenile, 15, had been living with Arias for several months and had also been the victim of sexual abuse.
