Morgan Hill’s local Coldwell Banker sponsored a successful raffle to benefit Habitat for Humanity last week.

Every year, Coldwell Banker joins forces with Habitat not only to raise money, but to actually help physically build the houses – making home ownership a reality for families in need. Though there has always been a corporate level fundraising raffle – heroically led by Eileen Burwell – this was a “first attempt” in-house raffle by Coldwell Banker resulting in a collection of over $2,500.

Thomas Kinkade, whose main office is located in Morgan Hill, generously donated a gorgeous, framed print which was featured as the main prize for the raffle. Additionally, there were 50 fabulous donations from local restaurants, stores and individuals.

The whole affair was catered by the wonderful Thai cuisine from The King and I, paired with wines and champagne provided by Fortino Winery.

Lois Lamb Bianchi, the organizer of this local fundraiser, got the ball rolling by securing donations from local businesses.

With the help of her partner in crime, Eileen Burwell,  the entire Coldwell Banker office jumped in, selling tickets and buying for clients, family and for themselves.

When Jim Eagle, manager of the Morgan Hill office, drew the final winning ticket for the Kinkade artwork, the audience was aghast to hear the name “Greg Warrick” as he had also won five other items that night.

A gigantic thank you goes out to all of the contributors of gifts and to all those who purchased the raffle tickets.

The best news of all…Coldwell Banker met the 100 percent and over goal for the office for funding – a 70 percent increase over last year’s achievement!  Coldwell Banker is already looking forward to augmenting their goal for next year!
