Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Red Phone, my problem is the new beautiful new Tennant Avenue
overpass.

“Red Phone, my problem is the new beautiful new Tennant Avenue overpass. Before, construction lights were timed. Now, they monkeyed with the light and so I drive to San Jose every morning from Juan Hernandez Drive, and I will sit at the red light with no cars coming for several minutes. I noticed recently cars backing up, going forward, backing up, going forward, thinking that going over the sensor will change things. When I get to the light to go onto the onramp and nobody is coming from either direction I sit idling at the red light. This is really annoying because it’s a waste of my time and I feel like I want to run it. I have x amount of minutes to get to Sunnyvale as I’m sure most commuters do and it’s really frustrating to be there cooling your heels at a red light when there’s no one in sight. Thanks”

Red Phone: Dear Cooling Your Heels, Red Phone contacted Julie Behzad, a senior civil engineer with the city, who said she did not believe the city changed any timing on the lights at the Tennant Avenue/U.S. 101 Interchange site except the light located at the Tennant Avenue/northbound ramp intersection.

“This project is located in the State Right of Way and is under Caltrans’ jurisdiction,” Behzad said. “We will contact Caltrans’ Signal Operations to visit the site to monitor the traffic movement, check on the traffic signal and address the signal timing if there is an issue.”

There you have it, good caller. Help is on the way.

Accident victims former MH residents

“Red Phone, Annie and Francis Knox who were fatally injured in a Nevada train crash were former residents of Morgan Hill.”

Red Phone: Dear Updated, yes they were.

The Times ran a story online June 28 about the accident that also injured a 16-year-old relative who was visiting family in Nebraska and were returning the teen to Morgan Hill when the accident occurred.
