With help from a grant, the California Highway Patrol’s Gilroy-Hollister office is conducting a DUI checkpoint Saturday in south Santa Clara County, according to the CHP.

According to a CHP statement, a drug recognition expert certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will provide assessments of drivers suspected of drug use. Additionally, officers will use preliminary alcohol screening devices to analyze breath samples.

The effort is funded by the Impaired Driver Enforcement and Apprehension grant through the California Office of Traffic Safety.

No other details were provided about the checkpoint.
