LO sports camps start Monday, still room in all-sports camp
Organized by Norm Dow and taught by high school coaches and teachers, the annual Live Oak Sports Camps begin the week of June 13-17 and include instruction in everything from baseball, softball, basketball and lacrosse to street hockey and science and math, along with plenty of other “camps.” The week-long “camps” range in cost from $90-$150, and continue through the summer. Camp applications can be picked up at Live Oak High.

Sobrato summer sports camps signups
Many outstanding coaches from Sobrato High will provide instruction in the necessary fundamentals and skills at the Sobrato Athletics Camps this summer.
The week-long specialty camps include training in: football, baseball, girl’s basketball, boy’s basketball, field hockey, softball, volleyball, soccer and cheerleading.
Camp dates range from July 11 to Aug. 12 and cost from $75-$140. Signups are being accepted now.

MH Water Polo Club summer session
Boys and girls aged 10-14 are invited to attend the Morgan Hill Water Polo Club’s summer age group session, which will begin on Monday. The program runs through Thursday, August 8.
The age group program is intended for area youth who are interested in learning and participating in the sport of water polo. The emphasis of the program is on instruction and skill development.
The age group teams will participate in games and scrimmages with other local clubs. The teams will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7pm-8:30 pm at the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. The cost of the summer session is $200 per player. All players will be required to obtain current USA Water Polo membership to participate. Registration forms and additional information will be provided at the Aquatics Center, before each practice.
OVYSL fall soccer signups
Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is now taking sign-ups for the 2005-06 fall recreational season. Play begins Sept. 10 and ends Nov. 20. Boys and girls ages 4-16 are eligible (birth dates 8/1/1989 to 7/31/2001). Fees range from $65 for U6, $95 for U8 and $120 for U10-U16. Download an application from www.ovysl.org for more details. Fill out the form according to the directions and mail it (do not hand deliver) to OVYSL, PO Box 0891, Morgan Hill, CA 95038. Include a certified copy of the prospective player’s birth certificate, along with a 1-inch by 1 1/2-inch color photo. Note: Player may not be wearing a hat or sunglasses in the photo. Applications must be postmarked on or before July 15 or a $25 late fee will be assessed. Teams are filled on a space-available-only basis after July 15.

Valley Christian girls basketball camp
Valley Christian High is offering a basketball camp for all girls entering 4th-8th grade.
Learn basic fundamental skills in a fun and loving environment at the beautiful Skyway campus in South San Jose. Camp runs from 9am-3pm, June 27-July 1. Cost is $150. Registration forms are available online at Valleychristian.net.

Aquatics Center signups
The Morgan Hill Aquatics Center is currently open for registrations and purchases of season passes Monday-Friday noon-7pm. There are also water fitness classes, Masters Swimming, Lap Swimming, Swimming Lessons and our Fun n’ Fit program currently running.
Also, try the Center’s newest program, “Aquatots.” This is a time in the morning for the young children with their parents. Play structures are on and the slide is off making the entire recreation pool available for your enjoyment.

YMCA Camps signups
Mt. Madonna YMCA in Morgan Hill is now accepting registration for camps which take place at the Morgan Hill YMCA, 17666 Crest Ave.
Half-day sports camps are for 3-5 year olds and take place June 13 through Aug. 19. The cost is $133/week.
Full day sports camps include a soccer camp from July 18-22 and the cost is $223/week; basketball camp from Aug. 1-5 and is $223/week; Y-World of Sports from July 5-8 and from Aug. 15-19 and is $223/week; gymnastics camp from July 11-15 and is $290/week; and golf camp from July 25-29 and Aug. 8-12 and is $350/week.
These camps are only for those entering grades 1-3 or 4-6.

San Jose State offers basketball camps
The coaching staff of San Jose States University’s Men’s Basketball Program will be holding two four-day camps this summer.
Session I runs from June 20-23 (Mon-Thurs) and Session II runs from August 8-11 (Mon-Thurs). We offer early drop off that starts at 7:45am and late pick-up until 5:30pm at no additional cost.
Please note that camp runs from 9am-4pm. The cost of the camp is $155 for early bird registration and $170 for late registration.
The dates for early bird registration is June 10 for session I and July 29th for session II.
Camp staff will include the SJSU men’s basketball coaching staff, players, as well as other area coaches.
The camp emphasis will be on fun as well as basketball fundamentals, skill enhancement, and team building.
