The girls compulsory gymnasts of Champions Academy, in Morgan Hill, earned numerous medals on Sept. 30 in their competition in Santa Cruz.

The girl’s hard work is paying off, as individuals are winning titles on multiple events.

The day began with the Level four girl’s setting the standard for the entire competition.

Nikki Barsanti placed first on vault, first on bars, second on beam, first on floor and first all-around with a score of 36.30 in the senior division.

Teammate Alexandra Dudschus also rose to the challenge, placing second on vault, first on bars, third on beam, first on floor and first all-around in the child division, with a score of 36.50.

Romina Gupta rounded out the session with a fifth place on bars.

The level five girls continued the day’s successes.

Shiina Suarez placed second on vault, first on beam, second on floor and second all-around, while Meghan Connolly placed second on bars, third on beam, first on floor and third all-around.

Both girls are in the child division.

Caitie Shannon rounded out the level 5 girl’s day by taking first on bars with a 9.6 out of 10.0, first on beam and first all-around.

The level six girl’s finished the day strong.

Haley Romero placed third on vault, second on floor and second all-around. Maddie Miller won the bars title with a 9.3, Rachel Hart placed first on vault, second on bars, third on beam and third all-around, and Pooja Chirala placed third on bars.

Champions Academy is located off Cochrane road at 18855 Adams Court.
