The Chamber of Commerce will unveil a new multi-dimensional website today that includes a dynamic calendar, better user-to-user interface and valuable resources for prospective new residents and businesses, the site’s developers said.

The site is part of wider communications strategy that is designed to improve the organization’s efforts to serve its members, and attract regional economic interest to Morgan Hill.

The new site at www.morganhill.org will enhance the chamber’s interaction with its members and facilitate more member-to-member interface, plus it’s more “user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing” than the former website, according to chamber president and CEO Chris Giusiana.

The chamber’s approximately 540 members will be able to advertise on the site, which will include enhanced community calendars and easy access to other local websites and organizations, Giusiana added.

Plus the site will serve as a resource of information for visitors to Morgan Hill and people and businesses who might be interested in moving here, Giusiana added. Maps and information about dining, hiking and wineries will be included on the site.

The site was developed by Chamber Concepts, a division of South Valley Newspapers, publisher of the Morgan Hill Times.

“The chamber’s mission is to provide benefits and services to support member business and to promote a strong regional economic climate,” said Steve Staloch, publisher of the Morgan Hill Times. “This web site exemplifies that goal. It will serve member needs in unique ways, while providing a communication conduit between members and their customers. This isn’t just a website – it’s a very rich resource center.”

The site is part of a four-piece multimedia communications strategy for the chamber, according to David Marin of Chamber Concepts and South Valley Newspapers.

The other components of the strategy are a weekly e-newsletter, e-blasts to Chamber members and, starting in November, a new glossy quarterly newsletter distributed to Chamber members and subscribers of the Morgan Hill Times.

“It’s enabling us to come into the 21st century, which we’re really excited about,” Giusiana said.

The new site will be online as of noon Friday.
