Funds raised will support a series of events for city
’s 100th birthday party
The Morgan Hill Centennial Celebration steering committee has named Brad Jones from BookSmart to head the Centennial Merchandise Fundraising effort for the committee.

Starting right off, Jones is asking for suppliers interested in producing centennial goods to contact him by Friday, Jan. 15.

Funds raised will support a year-long series of events, parties and educational efforts designed to celebrate Morgan Hill’s 100th birthday Centennial celebration which will start New Year’s Eve, 2005 and end on Founders Day, Nov. 10, 2006.

Merchandise sales will be the major fund raising effort for these events.

The fundraising committee is looking for one or two suppliers of promotional merchandise and apparel to work with as semi-exclusive vendors for the “Celebration Year Gear.”

The list of merchandise that the committee is seeking includes traditional apparel such as T-shirts and caps but could be as wide ranging as office utensils, bags, toys, special food and anything else that is marketable to the community and beyond.

Anyone wishing to be considered for this partnership should have extensive experience in the procurement and production of promotional items.

They should be able to source and manage several lines of merchandise at once.

They will be responsible for inventory control, production and placement. They should have their own office and some ability to warehouse merchandise before and after production.

All prospects will be considered but local businesses will be given first consideration. After introductions are made, one or more prospects will be asked to make a more in depth proposal. The deadline is Jan. 15, 2005.

Contact Brad Jones at BookSmart, 17415 Monterey St. Morgan Hill, CA 95037 or [email protected] with a letter of introduction and a brief proposal.
