Cajun food coming soon to Morgan Hill

Red Phone, regarding the mushroom complaint, I think I know what
happened.

“Red Phone, regarding the mushroom complaint, I think I know what happened. There was a food court in the train depot parking lot (4th and Depot) which had very few mushroom dishes. There were a great deal of mushroom dishes at the larger food court in the Community Center parking lot. I’ll bet the people who complained had parked in the large lot east of the tracks and spent all of their time along Depot street without realizing that there was more to the festival. Only one narrow driveway led into that area, and it could have been missed.”

Red Phone: Dear Found the Answer, you may have come upon the answer. Red Phone saw the food court along Depot, but didn’t check it closely. As you said, there were a variety of dishes at the food court in the Community Center parking lot. Maybe next year a sign at the smaller food court could direct people to the larger court where more mushroom dishes were sold.

Thanks for calling.

Lack of Internet options frustrating

“Residents in the Machado School area (southwest Morgan Hill) have no options for Internet service other than satellite! We’re surrounded by families with cable options in every direction. Its very frustrating and because we’re in the unincorporated area, we get no support whatsoever.”

Red Phone: Dear Frustrated, you’re not the only one. Read on.

“Several years ago, I signed up for high speed Internet connection with Verizon. A few months ago, I took a class that required viewing online video streaming. I found out my high speed Internet was causing problems. I could not quickly and easily view the videos because of my high speed connection. So, for almost a year I paid for a connection that was useless. I spent hours on the phone with Verizon as well as having a representative come to my home to check my lines. Imagine my surprise to find out I paid for something that I could not use and Verizon still touts this high speed capability.”

Red Phone: Dear Surprised, you and Frustrated, as well as hundreds of others are the victim of the marketplace. Cable franchises are explicitly not exclusive and other providers are free to build additional cable systems in an area.

The anticipated revenues from a second system, however, aren’t typically enough to justify the high capital costs associated with building a cable system. This economic reality would even be true for the construction of a new combined phone-cable-internet network.

“I have personally placed calls with potential new entrants in the past and have been met with no interest,” said Tony Eulo, program administrator for the city.

Anyway, hope that answers both your questions, good callers. Keep on reading.
