“Red Phone, I wrote in (last week) regarding a $20 charge from Charter for a one minute call. When I notified them and told them I contacted you they told me they would credit me the $20. Wanted to let you know so you do not expend time & energy.”
Red Phone: Dear Problem Solved, Red Phone ran the item Friday. And while it’s good to hear you were credited, it’s important for others to learn about the Call Trace feature, that automatically initiates a trace of the last call you received, according to Verizon.
Glad to hear just the mention of calling Red Phone got you your credit. Thanks for calling Red Phone.
Bus stop moved to ease access
“Red Phone, do you know why the VTA bus stop was moved from in front of Rosy’s at the Beach?”
Red Phone: Dear Do You Know, Red Phone answered this question last fall, shortly after the stop was moved. According to Leslie Little, assistant city manager, the bus stop in question was moved for two reasons. One, the Valley Transportation Authority determined that the prior location did not meet their accessibility requirements, and two, patrons of the business were cramped by the multiple uses of the street and sidewalk.
“There are a lot of things happening in the public way at this location in addition to the restaurant dining, including tree planters and public art,” Little said. “Restaurants and downtown businesses do not pay rent for the outdoor area that they ask permission to use. They do, however, apply and pay for an encroachment permit in accordance with the Municipal Code for sidewalk use in the downtown. The permit sets limits on the usable space for each restaurant to accommodate pedestrian, wheelchair and patron access and safety.”
Hope that helps, good caller.
