Breast cancer support group

– A free, drop-in group meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month for 90 minutes beginning at 5:30 p.m.. The meetings are open to anyone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Vintage Mustangs on display

– Vintage Mustangs will be the featured car for the 22nd Annual Custom and Classic Car Show that takes place during the Taste of Morgan Hill, Sept. 24 and 25. Custom and classic car owners are urged to register early.

Staging will begin at 8 a.m., both days, and the car show will conclude at 3 p.m., each day, with awards being given to owners with the most spectacular cars in the show. Breakfast and lunch will be served, both days, to car show participants, with breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Take a stroll

– The Morgan Hill Walking/Hiking Group meets at 6 p.m. every weeknight and 9 a.m. Saturdays for moderately paced walks around town.

Meet at the Morgan Hill Shopping Center at Hale Avenue and Main Street, near the red and white Morgan Hill Center sign. Everyone, including pets, are welcome to enjoy the morning.

– The Farmer’s Market takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at Third and Depot streets in downtown Morgan Hill.

Health care benefits for veterans

– The Veterans Administration Medical Team, from Palo Alto, will hold an outreach program for all veterans from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St. Hollister.

The team will have doctors and nurses to address medical and mental issues as well as a veteran service officer, who will process claims. It is open to residents of Gilroy and Morgan Hill.

Garlic Texas Hold ‘Em tourney

– Team registration is now being accepted at the Gilroy Recreation Department, 7351 Rosanna St., for the seventh annual Garlic Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament 10 a.m. July 16 at the Gilroy Senior Center. The one-day tournament, featuring four-person teams playing at different tables, is a fundraiser for many city of Gilroy programs.

This is the 29th in a series of Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments offered throughout the year. A $60 entry fee and a roster are needed to enroll by the July 11 deadline. This recreational event is open to men and women ages 18 and older.
