Got a vision for South County?
– Join the Committee for Green Foothills and the Greenbelt Alliance in helping to shape the future of south Santa Clara County at Community Design Day, where the public will create a community driven vision for the region. The idea is to communicate a vision and inform current and future decision makers, shaping the landscape, the dialogue and the quality of life for the region.
This is an opportunity to share a point of view on issues such as regional transportation, including high-speed rail and regional bike trails; revitalization and growth in downtown areas as well as overall county growth; the lack of funding for open spaces – all the while recognizing South County as a “gateway” to regional parklands; the future of local farmland; the need for wildlife corridors; and the protection of local waterways. The Design Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at The Granary, 17500 Depot St., Morgan Hill. Assemblyman Bill Monning will speak.
